The street is the only educational path for many children. For this street children it is a wide, fascinating but often also scary and terrible place. The aim of the GRT is to defend the rights and wishes of children first and then to propose rehabilitation.

This is the reality of street children in Nepal, Romania, Nicaragua and Somalia.

STREET CHILDREN IN NAIROBI

This project, implemented by GRT and funded by Tavola Valdese’s Ottopermille, works directly with street children and youth in Nairobi to engage them in a rehabilitation process aimed at strengthening their psychosocial well-being and offering an alternative to street life.

NJIA YA NYUMBANI. The way home

The Way Home aims to strengthen community and institutional response to the phenomenon of street children in Mlango Kubwa in the Starehe sub-county of Nairobi, Kenya.

Children with disabilities in Nepal

As part of the activities in favour of disabled children and strengthening local organisations, GRT is carrying out together with CBR- Community Based Rehabilitation – of Bhaktapur the project “The Chronicity of the Earthquake” thanks to the contribution of the 8×1000 of the Tavola Valdese.

Slum Drummers

This project aims to improve the living conditions of street children and support the empowerment and capacity building of the CBO Slum Drummers, a musical group born from the street.

Protection of victims in Somalia

Provide medical care and psychological support to displaced persons, asylum seekers and victims of gender-based violence, particularly children, in Puntland, Garowe.

GRT in Nicaragua

In Nicaragua, GRT has implemented numerous projects with long-term results, intervening in various sectors.

Boresha Maisha

The Project aims to improve the living conditions, psycho-physical well-being and social inclusion of the most vulnerable children in the Starehe sub-county (Nairobi, Kenya).

Girls Education Challenge

To ensure that marginalized girls have the opportunity to obtain an education through school. The aim is to enable girls to support themselves and get out of the extreme poverty in which they live.

Child protection

The emergency situation in the Horn of Africa has blocked access to livelihoods for thousands of people, leading to an unprecedented mass exodus in Somalia.

Gender-based violence and vulnerable childhood

In the camps for displaced people, womend and children live in serious deprivationa and danger. They are often extremely vulnerable to violence and mistreatment.
